Linda was raised in many places, including Elk City, Oklahoma City, Anaheim, California, Duncan and Woodward, before settling in Alva. She graduated from Duncan High School and then went to Beauty School. On August 24, 1974, she was united in marriage to Russell Howard Erikson at the Methodist Chapel in Alva. Together they had three children, Tom, Clint and Mandy. She worked as a hairdresser for many years while also driving an Alva School Bus and serving as a school board member. She also worked for a time at Community Bank and Dr. Bierig's office and later worked at the Oklahoma Department of Health as an administrative professional before her retirement.

She was a faithful and active member of the Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church, serving as treasurer and a past Sunday School Superintendent. She loved her kids and grandkids, attending any events they were involved in. She helped her kids in 4-H, being named Leader of the Year, and was made an honorary member of FFA. She and Russell enjoyed traveling and she loved her flower gardens, especially hibiscus and sunflowers. Linda was a thoughtful friend to many and sent cards for any occasion.

Besides her parents, Doyle and June, she was preceded in death by her son, James Thomas "Tom" Erikson.
