Alfalfa County accepts bid for 12-month ballots

The Alfalfa County commissioner meeting on Monday was brief. Stephanie Jantz from the Alfalfa County Election Board and Sheriff Gary Mast joined commissioners Garret Johnson, Mike Roach and Nate Ross in the gallery.

Jantz was there to see the bids for 12-month ballots. Commissioners opened two envelopes, one of which was a no-bid. The other was from Royal Printing, and it was accepted.

Sheriff Mast was there to sign his part of the county's 2024-2025 Estimate of Needs and the FY 2023-2024 financial statement once the commissioners approved them. Then Johnson, Roach, and Ross approved a private property access easement for District 2 (1101 Industrial Ave. in Cherokee) to dump millings and concrete in Burlington Welding's parking lot.

Next, the three men signed waiver packets for Alfalfa County 35426(04) for Elias and Wendy Stonehocker and Gregory Family Trust. Roach said he was for a bridge he was building.

The commissioners approved two appropriation transfers. One was to move $10 from the Election Board M&O account 0001-1-2200-2005 to the Election Board Travel account 001-1-2200-1310 for travel funds. The other was to move $20,000 from the Hwy District 2 M&O account 1102-6-4200-2005 to the Hwy District 2 Capital Outlay account 1102-6-4200-2005 for the funding of a mower.

Lastly, the commissioners signed a revised meeting place for Class A officers to the commissioner's conference room on the second floor. They approved previous meeting minutes, payroll warrants, blanket purchase orders, and M&O warrants for payment at the beginning of the meeting.
