Alfalfa County E-911 dispatch department and jailers to cross-train by year's end

Alfalfa County commissioners Garret Johnson, Mike Roach and Nate Ross convened in a short executive session during their meeting on Monday. The trio did so to discuss the positions and duties of the E-911 director/supervisor. County clerk Laneta Schwerdtfeger joined the commissioners, and then a little later, E-911 director Sarah Wagner and sheriff Gary Mast joined.

Once the meeting returned to an open session, the commissioners voted to have workers in the dispatch department cross-train with the jailers by the end of the year.

After that, they approved an $8,000 transfer of appropriations from the Assessor VI Personal Services account 0001-1-1700-1110 to the Assessor VI M&O account 001-1700-2005 to cover the considerable expense for the attorney associated with the protests. Assessor Jennifer Roach was on hand to explain that situation to Johnson, Roach, and Ross.

Then commissioners rejected the 12-month ballots due to publication errors. (The rebid for them took place on Sept. 3.)

There were three private property access easements. The one in District 3 was for the NE¼ of 34-24-11 for tree removal from the right-of-way, and the others were in District 2. One was for the SE¼ of 30-25-12 to clean and shape the channel for flow, and the other was for the NW¼ of 18-24-12 to stack and remove trees.

Next, the three men signed the Report of Conference and Bridge Inspection invoice for all three districts, followed by signing a notification of grant approval letter for District 2 for the Unpaved Roads Grant and an Emergency Operations Procedure Amendment and Attestation letter for FY 23 on an EMPG grant.

Closing out the agenda were three declarations of surplus. Those were for a 2021 John Deere loader H310 (Inv. no. D2 332-214, Serial no. 1POH310XPMD022004), a 2015 John Deere tractor (Inv. no. D2 304-220, Serial no. 1PO6140DPE0060832), and a Dell PowerEdge server T320 Processor (Inv. no. H220 100.47, Serial no. CN-09M1D2-71070-59C00F0-A01). The commissioners signed a resolution for the disposal of the Dell server.

Previous meeting minutes, blanket purchase orders, and maintenance and operation warrants for payments were signed at the beginning of the meeting.
