Alva will be thinking pink when the youthful cast of "Legally Blonde Jr." takes to the ACT I stage on June 27, 28 and 29 at 7 p.m. The fun and upbeat musical follows the adventures of sorority girl Elle Woods who tries to win her ex-boyfriend back by earning a Harvard Law School degree.
"'Legally Blonde Jr.' is a comedic, light-hearted show, but it also explores serious themes of self-discovery and independence that resonate with people of all ages," said Director Delaney Lambert. "We think it's a show that will be enjoyed by all theatre goers, and as Elle Woods would say, the cast is 'psyched' to present their annual summer show."
Delta Nu sorority president Elle Woods seems to have it all. However, her life is turned upside-down when her boyfriend, aspiring lawyer Warner, dumps her because he wants to get serious about his future at Harvard. Determined to win Warner back, Elle works hard, also getting into Harvard to prove that she's serious enough for him. Once at school, she is challenged by her professors and her ex, but with the help of new friends, Elle succeeds as a law student.
With a book by Heather Hach, music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, Legally Blonde Jr. is based on the book by Amanda Brown and the hit Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture starring Reese Witherspoon.
