Ray Caldwell, who pitched in baseball’s major leagues from 1910 through 1921, lived from 1888 until 1967. He played primarily for the New York Yankees before finishing his career with the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians.
Caldwell last pitched in the major leagues in September 1921 but he was not yet finished with playing the sport at which he excelled. He played 12 more seasons in the minor leagues, retiring in 1933 at the age of 45!
