The Woods County Mineral Owners Association will meet at the Alva campus of the Northwest Technology Center on Monday, Aug. 28. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Seminar Room. Guest speakers will be Cody McPherson and Micah Adkison.
Cody McPherson is a shareholder in the Oklahoma City law firm, Mahaffey & Gore, P.C. He is a 2004 graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law. McPherson represents surface and mineral owners as well as oil and gas exploration and production companies in the area of oil and gas litigation. McPherson is a native of Purcell, where he and his family operate a four-generation family farm consisting of cattle, alfalfa, corn, soybeans and wheat. McPherson is a covenant member of Timber Creek Fellowship Church in Norman. He and his wife, Ericka, have three children, John (14), Joseph (8) and Mia (8).
Micah Adkison is an associate attorney at Mahaffey and Gore P.C. He is a 2017 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Adkison represents landowners and oil and gas companies in a wide array of contract, tort, product liability and real property litigation. Adkison was raised in Mansfield, Texas, but relocated to Oklahoma after serving more than 14 years in the United States Marine Corps. He currently resides in Newalla, where he and his wife, Melissa, raise their three children, Hondo (14), Hico (11) and Virginia (10). Adkison and his family attend Pecan Valley Baptist Church.
