ALVA – Two Northwestern Oklahoma State alumni won their events in their latest rodeo this past week. Coleman Proctor won the Rocky Mountain Cup while Taylor Munsell won the breakaway roping event.
The Rocky Mountain Cup featured 30 headers and heelers. The four best scores advanced to the final showdown. Proctor did his first steer in 5.6 seconds and a best time of 4.2 seconds. The final time was 6.6 seconds to take home the winning prize.
Munsell earned a spot in the final four of the breakaway event after finishing in 3.6, 2.9, and 4.3 seconds before roping her final calf in 1.7 seconds in the sudden death round edging out Jackie Crawford who finished second with 1.8 seconds. This was the inaugural breakaway competition at the Rocky Mountain Cup in Calgary.
