Burlington Breakaway FUNdraiser

Burlington Student Council recently held a fundraiser called Burlington Breakaway. Students set a goal of $1,400 encouraging each class to raise $100. Every day of Burlington Breakaway, students who wanted to paid $5 to participate in fun activities or receive treats after lunch.

On Monday, the students played "Bahama Bingo" to win prizes. On Tuesday the students participated in "Aloha Hats & Hoodies" and were allowed to wear hats or hoodies all day. On Wednesday for "Leis and Rays" the 7-12 grade students got to play kickball last hour and receive a lei, chips, and a drink.

Thursday was "Sugar and Shades." Participating students were allowed to wear sunglasses and were encouraged to wear Hawaiian shirts. After lunch they received a frozen treat. "Hang Loose Friday" allowed the students to relax in their PJs and flip flops and received a treat after lunch.

Every class that met the goal got to pie their principal in the face. The class that raised the most money got to turn their principal into a human sundae. The Student Council raised $1,500, going over their goal. A portion of the money that was raised was donated to Stamp Out Starvation.
