ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State Track & Field will travel to six indoor track meets this spring, before getting set for NCAA qualifiers. Following the conclusion of the indoor season the Rangers will then travel to seven outdoor meets before the Conference meet followed by NCAA qualifiers.
The season will consist of five Division I meets that include three Big 12, one Big 10 and one AAC. Northwestern will also compete in two MIAA meets for the indoor season.
Northwestern will open the 2023 season in Lincoln, Nebraska, for their first indoor meet of the season hosted by University of Nebraska on January 13-14.
The following weekend the track & field team will compete at the Kansas State Deloss Dodds Invitational on Jan. 20-21 for their first meet this spring in Manhattan, Kansas. This will be the first of two trips to Manhattan as the Rangers will return on Feb. 17 for a one-day meet.
The Rangers will then get set for a two-day meet in Wichita, Kansas, back-to-back weeks first hosted by Wichita State in the Herm Wilson Invitational on Jan. 27-28. Washburn will host their meet at the Washburn Open & Multi Invitational in Wichita, Kansas.
Track & Field heads to the Pittsburgh Gorilla Classic in Pittsburgh, Kansas, on Feb. 10–11 for their second-to-final indoor meet before the Steve Miller Invitational the final week.
The NCAA Qualifying Meets and NCAA Division II Indoor Championship will conclude the indoor season from Feb. 23-25 for qualifiers before the Indoor Championship on March 10.
Northwestern's outdoor season will begin on Saturday, March 19, as the team travels to Pratt, Kansas, for the first of the season.
The following week the team will take a trip to Emporia State in Emporia, Kansas, for the second weekend before heading back to Wichita for a meet hosted by Friends University.
Northwestern heads to Canyon, Texas, the next weekend at West Texas A&M for the Classic & Multi Invitational on April 7–8.
The Rangers travel back to Emporia for the Midwest Classic on April 22 for a one-day meet before the Southwestern Relays in Winfield, Kansas, concludes the outdoor season the next weekend.
Post-season will begin with the Great American Conference Championships May 4–6 in Searcy, Arkansas. This will be followed by the NCAA meets, first qualifying on May 13 before the Outdoor Championship on the 25.
