Alva Church of God

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Bible study is at 7 p.m.

Alva Friends Church

Please meet us for coffee and donut fellowship at 10:15 a.m. every Sunday morning. Worship is at 10:30 a.m. If you cannot make it in person, we are on Facebook at Alva Friends Church Group. The church is located at the corner of College Avenue and Center Street.

Barnes Street Church of Christ

Sunday worship services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. (7 p.m. during daylight savings time). Visitors are most welcome to attend the worship services. For more information, contact Andrew Rhodes (327-3368) and Brian Gaddy (327-5130).

Bible Baptist Church

Sundays: Are you looking for a church with reverent worship and Biblical preaching? Come and visit Bible Baptist Church. We would be honored by your visit to our services. 

Family Discipleship starts at 9:30 a.m. There are three graded classes for children, a teen class, and an adult Bible class. Join us for a time of learning and fellowship. Family Discipleship emphasizes family learning and provides the tools necessary to help parents teach the Bible to their children.

Our morning worship starts at 10:30 a.m. Our new sermon series, “Resistance,” begins today.

Junior and Teen Impact meet at 5:30 p.m. This group is for students in fourth grade through high school.

Our Sunday evening service begins at 6 p.m. Wise Guys, a character-building and scripture memorization program for pre-K to third grade, meets at this time.

Monday, Jan. 9: Our monthly ladies fellowship meets on Monday at 7 p.m. All ladies are invited to attend.

Tuesday: Celebrate Recovery meets on Tuesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based recovery program to help provide a safe place to discover a Savior who can give freedom from hang-ups, hurts and habits. Everyone is invited to attend.

Wednesday: Our Wednesday Refuel prayer meeting and Bible study starts at 6:30 p.m.

Capron United Methodist Church

Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church

We are a country church that serves Christ and community with agape love. Come join us every Sunday for Sunday school at 10 a.m. Worship service will be at 11 a.m. Our worship service has a blend of contemporary and traditional music.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Sacrament meeting (worship service) begins at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Visitors are always welcome to attend all the church meetings. 

On the first and third Sundays each month, Sunday school follows at 11 a.m. for all ages. The course of study this year is "Come Follow Me – New Testament." You can find the weekly reading assignments and other materials for home study as well as the Sunday school lesson on the church's website: ChurchofJesusChrist.org under the Library tab at the top of the page. A free download of the library materials is also available for cell phones. 

The second hour meetings on the second and fourth Sundays include Relief Society for women, Young Men or Young Women for teens, Priesthood for men, Primary for children. Second hour fifth Sunday meetings are planned by the branch leadership. 

Youth groups also meet Wednesday nights.

College Hill Church of Christ

The College Hill Church of Christ, 1102 College Blvd., Alva, is just east of the NWOSU campus. Sunday morning Bible class is at 9:30 a.m. with worship services at 10:30 a.m. A potluck lunch is scheduled every second Sunday of the month after the morning service. Wednesday night Bible classes are at 7 p.m.

Dacoma United Methodist Church

Everyone is welcome. Fellowship coffee and doughnuts are at 8:45 a.m. Worship service with Rev. Don Jones is at 9 a.m.

eXtreme Youth Center

The eXtreme, located at 425 College Ave. in Alva, is a ministry of Hopeton Church. Students in sixth through 12th grade are invited to come hang out, play games, work on homework and enjoy time with friends after school from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The eXtreme is available to rent for parties and events. First Assembly of God

Morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. each Sunday morning. We currently do not have an evening service.

First Baptist Church

Notice: First Baptist will continue to livestream its services for the time being.

Sunday: Worship services will be at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Worship will be both inside the sanctuary and online via Facebook live (www.facebook.com/FCCAlva). Rev. Drew Kirtley will bring the message “Old Ways,” based on Isaiah 42:1-9. Kelly Parker will be scripture reader.

Serving Elders: Patty Barker will lead the Communion Prayer; Kelly Parker will dedicate the offerings. Deacons will be Heath Isenbart (captain), greeters Devon Cushenbery and Kelli Isenbart, and Darren Whitely (counter). Mason Orcutt and Kyle Woods will run the audio and video. Erin Davis will bring the Children's Moment. Allison Inman will lead Children's Church.

First Presbyterian Church

ALL are welcome.

Sunday, Jan. 1: Worship and communion will be at 11 a.m. Rev. Ron Pingelton will bring the sermon, “The Servant of the Lord.” Liturgist will be James Bell. Readings will be Isaiah 42:1-9 and Acts 10:34-43.

First United Methodist Church

We are located at the corner of College and Church and online at fumcalva.org, Sunday school for all ages is at 9:30 a.m. The week's message comes from Matthew 1:17.

Wednesday Night Live starts Jan. 11. We offer classes for children and adults and dinner for the whole family. Wednesdays 6-7:30 p.m.

Gaisford Ministries/Midwest Healing Center Oklahoma

Nazarene Church

Donut and coffee fellowship is at 9:15 each Sunday morning, Bible study for ages 6 and up at 9:30, and worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Nursery is available for children under age 6 during worship. Missions lessons for ages 6 through fifth grade are held the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church

The celebration of Holy Mass (Jesus in the Eucharist) is the source of our spiritual nourishment. Rev. Father Bala, Sagili Jesudas, is the parish priest (pastor) of Sacred Heart in Alva and its missions in Cherokee and Waynoka. You are welcome; be a part of the Sacred Heart Parish family.

Saturday: Waynoka services at Our Mother of Mercy Church, 1325 Main St., include Sacrament of Confession at 4:30 p.m. and Holy Mass (Eucharist) at 5 p.m., summer schedule. Sacrament of Confession at 3:30 p.m. and Holy Mass at 4:00 p.m., winter schedule.

Town and Country Christian Church

Sundays: Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesdays: Youth group will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Zion Lutheran Church

Please join us on Sundays for Sunday school and worship with us at Zion Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) at Third and Maple streets.

Sunday school (children and adults) begins at 9:15 a.m. Fellowship is at 10 a.m. Worship starts at 10:30 a.m. with Communion on the first and third Sundays. During Advent and Lent, Zion holds Wednesday services at 7 p.m.

Weekly Happenings: Weekday School (grades 4-6) meets on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Handbells practice Mondays at 5 p.m.

Monthly meetings: Pitch Group (first Sunday evening of the month), Ruth Circle (first Monday of the month at noon), LWML (first Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.), Seasoned Saints (third Tuesday at 1 p.m.), Youth Group.
