The Aline Star Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Aline, Oklahoma. This meeting is for all parties who own burial space(s) or are interested in purchasing.
Those who own property are association members and are encouraged to attend because substantial matters and possible changes will be addressed. Currently there is an opening for a board member. The Aline Star Cemetery guidelines stipulate that the board will consist of no less then five and no more than nine members.
The positions filled and eligible for election are president, secretary and three board members. There is no restriction on years of service and when only one candidate is nominated for a position, that post may be elected by acclamation. Membership is required to be eligible either to vote and/or hold office.
As early spring arrived, the Aline Star Cemetery grounds were cleaned to remove damaged, weather-worn, out of season, and restricted decorations in preparation for the mowing season. The appearance of the grounds is a concern of everyone who has loved ones buried at Star Cemetery.
Warm weather insures the need for mowing and weed control. Since expenses continue to rise, donations are always appreciated. A monetary gift in honor of a loved one is a thoughtful remembrance. Donations may be mailed to Kaye Reihm, 50297 Aline Blacktop Road, Aline, OK 73716.
