This past Tuesday, the Avard Regional Rail Park Authority met at noon for their monthly meeting. Members Stan Bixler, Allan Poe, Bob Firth (via Zoom) and Ed Sutter were present, but Todd Holder was unable to make it. Woods County Clerk Shelley Reed was there too, along with three guests: County Commissioner Randy McMurphy, Jeff Sagner of NW Green Panels LLC and Josh McClintock from Emblem Strategies.
After roll call, the board quickly approved the minutes from their Feb. 15 meeting and went on to look over the financial reports. As of March 10, the balance sheet reflected $391,340.99 in checking/savings.
After approving the reports as presented, Poe motioned for an executive session to include Reed, McMurphy, Sagner, McClintock, and later, Jill Shero (from Emblem Strategies). After returning to regular session, members took no action on matters discussed during the executive session.
They also opted to take no action on some of the last agenda items: grants, possibly contracting a company for Department of Commerce grants, or the lease agreement with NW Green Panels LLC.
There wasn't a Woods County Economic Development Committee executive director's report, but before calling the meeting to a close, the board voted to accept the contract with Emblem Strategies with legal counsel approval.
