Two men charged in fatal beating of homeless man in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Two homeless men have been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal beating of another man near downtown Wichita.

David Chandler, 63, and Abel Molina, 31, made their first court appearances on Friday. Their bonds were set at $500,000, KFDI reported.

The two men were arrested after police found Blake Barnes, 30, severely injured Feb. 22 at a bridge near the Mid-America All-Indian Museum. Barnes, who was also homeless, died later from his injuries.

Witnesses told police Barnes had been beaten several times with a metal pipe.

The men's next court appearance is scheduled...
