Rangers ranked ninth in this week's Central Region Division II

ALVA, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers soccer team has won four consecutive games for the first time since the 2014 season. Northwestern is now off to a 4-1 start, their best start since the 2004 season, where the Rangers opened 3-1-1 on the season.

The 4-1 start for the Rangers are being recognized as, for the first time in Northwestern soccer history, the Rangers have entered the top 10 in the central region rankings. The Rangers have been led in the mix by their offense and defense in the last four games; the Red-and-Black have scored a combined 12 goals while only allowing three for a +9 goal differential. On the season, the goal differential is +6.

In the last two weeks, Northwestern has received back-to-back player of the week awards in Tiara Campbell winning the offensive player of the week after scoring two goals, including a late equalizer in the 87th minute followed by the game-winner in overtime. The following week Caitlyn Bidart won defensive player of the week after helping the Rangers to a shutout win over Nebraska at Kearney, followed by a 4-1 win over Wayne State College.

In the second central poll of the season released this week, Northwestern Oklahoma State comes in ranked ninth by the United Soccer Coaches this week after opening the season unranked in the central region. The ninth ranking is the highest in school history since joining Division II. In this week's rankings, the Rangers were one of three teams to join the rankings after not being there along with Bemidji State University at Great American Conference opponent Ouachita Baptist University.

Northwestern will be back in action on Saturday, September 18th, as they return home following their four-game road trip in which the team went 4-0. The match is set for a 7:00 PM kickoff.
