At Monday's meeting, Alfalfa County commissioners Marvin Woodall, Jay Hague, and Mike Roach modified requisitioning and receiving officers. One was for the name change of County Clerk Laneta Unruh's name to Laneta Schwerdtfeger. The others were for Mike Roach and Jennifer Hensley as requisitioning officers for the ARP Fund-General, and Marvin Woodall and Laura Hague as receiving officers for ARP Fund-General.
Grinding and milling on a one-mile stretch on Garvin Road in District 3 were green-lighted by commissioners. They signed that paperwork and then discussed the handbook policy (page 15) for meal reimbursement for county employees who travel for training education. The stipulation is one-day classes must be over 75 miles away (one way), and classroom time of at least six hours. Within these parameters, the food allowance is $25 at the discretion of an elected official. (The original amount agreed upon was $20, but Roach acknowledged the rising food costs and proposed $25 instead.) The men took no action so that the exact phrasing could be sorted out. Instead, they will vote on the issue during a subsequent meeting.
P&K Equipment was awarded the bid on the tractor for a road drag. The bid was for $144,677.24. A private property access easement for District 3 at the SE¼ of 25-25-10 for removing trees from the right-of-way and placement on a farmer's land received signatures.
Afterward, the commissioners opened and awarded a $1,500 sealed bid for real estate (the old elevator) in Lot 7 (less railroad including alley) and lots 8 and 9 in Block 14 in Cherokee Original to Wilbur Fertilizer.
The last few items were routine. First, the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) for FY 2020 was revised, and the SEFA for FY 2021 was signed. Second, commissioners approved a customer service agreement with UniFirst for services in District 3 as well, and lastly, a material request form for District 3 was approved too.
