Planning commission to consider two zoning changes

The Alva Planning Commission will hold a regular meeting Monday at 6 p.m. in the city council chambers of City Hall.

The commission will consider two requests for changes to zoning. Michael Dale and Lindi Wiggins are requesting that 201 Flynn St. be changed from commercial to residential zoning. They purchased the property to build a residence but did not know about the zoning. They want to build a three bedroom house with 2.5 baths and a two-car garage on the two lots at that location.

The second zoning change is requested by Aaron and Lisa Vermillion for 314 Maple St. He has requested the zoning be changed from RG8 to RG6 to allow them to remove the current garage addition and build a new addition in its place.

Commission members will discuss and made a recommendation on the city adopting the International Existing Business Code.

There will also be discussion on electric vehicle charging stations on city sidewalks.
