4 killed, including 2 children, in northeast Oklahoma crash

QUAPAW, Okla. (AP) — Four people, including two children, were killed in a two-vehicle collision in northeastern Oklahoma Friday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Charlsee Eberly, 30, of Miami; Kaitlyn Kibel, 28, of Quapaw; a 7-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy whose names were not released died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash, according to an OHP report.

The collision occurred on U.S. 69 just after 8: 30 p.m. Friday near Quapaw, about 90 miles (145 kilometers) northeast of Tulsa.

Three children aged 3, 7, and 8 were hospitalized in stable condition Saturday due to injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report said.

The five children were passengers in a sport utility vehicle driven by Kibel while Eberly was driving the other vehicle involved in the collision, according to the report.

The cause of the collision was still under investigation on Saturday, but it was raining and the roadway was wet at the time of the crash, the OHP reported.
