Graveside services for Max L. Morse, age 81, of Lahoma, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Lahoma with Pastor Randy Foote officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 8, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Max was born December 26, 1939, in Hopeton, Oklahoma, to Ray and Pearl (Ikler) Morse, and passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020, in Enid.
Max was raised in Dacoma, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Dacoma High School in 1958 and received a bachelor's of science degree on May 11, 1969 from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
He married Joyce Morse (Kletke) in Dacoma on February 5, 1969. They made their home in Lahoma where he taught high school for a few years where he coached baseball and basketball. Later, he worked for the co-op for many years. He loved his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the grandchildren participating in their various sporting activities. He also loved watching OU football and basketball; he was a huge fan! Max was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma.
Max is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Pearl Morse; his wife, Joyce Morse; brother, Donald Morse; and sister, Winifred Allen. He is survived by two children, Barry Morse of Enid; daughter, Kim Morris and husband Mike, of Enid; four grandchildren, Lainey Morse, Kaden Morris, Callie Morris, and Paiton Morse. He also is survived by two brothers, Charlie Morse of El Paso, Texas; and Wayne Morse and wife Joan, of Enid.
