Car show, rally added to Alva Crazy Days event

It's Crazy Days in Alva Saturday, and new events have been added to the fun. Merchants will be opening stores early to beat the heat and give shoppers a chance at bargains.

Saturday is also the date of the Crazy Cool Boulevard Cruise with live music from bands scattered along Oklahoma Boulevard, food trucks and a parade of interesting vehicles cruising back and forth. People are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and find a good seat to watch.

For the first time this year, the cruise will include a Saturday morning Crazy Cool Car Show and Mural Rally. The car show will be from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the parking area on the east side of the courthouse. Cars. trucks, motorcycles, etc., are welcome in the show and rally, and there's no entry fee. Food trucks will be on hand along with a deejay providing musical entertainment. Prizes and trophies will be awarded in various categories.

The mural rally will add to fun for drivers. Norville Ritter said the rally will be from 8:45 to about 9:45 a.m. Participants will draw for one of three routes. Then packets will be distributed containing a list of murals and a map.
