Food support in Barber County

Prior to COVID-19, the Mobile Food Pantry, a truck that used to deliver fresh produce, dairy products and other food and grocery products directly to distribution sites where people need food, has been active in Barber County, Kansas, and is available to any Barber County resident who is in need of food. For those living in smaller communities, Medicine Lodge is open to Sharon, Sun City, Lake City and Isabel, while Kiowa is open to Hazelton and Hardtner.

If you know of any family or individual in need of food please encourage them to reach out to their local resource.

• Kiowa United Methodist Church at 620-825-4933

• Medicine Lodge Methodist Church at 620-886-3903

• Hardtner Food Pantry is open by appointment only by calling Glenda Alexander at 620-296-4478.

The next pick-up day will be May 20.

Thank you to individuals who have contributed to the local food pantries, the volunteers that make all these options available and the churches who help coordinate these efforts.
