TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A 27-year-old Tulsa man was being held without bond Monday in connection with a shooting that left a 1-year-old toddler in critical condition, police said.
Javontay Jones was arrested on three complaints of shooting with intent to kill and one count of possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony, jail records show.
Jones is accused of opening fire on an SUV Friday outside a Tulsa apartment complex with a man and woman inside, along with the 1-year-old child, Lt. Brandon Watkins said. One of the bullets struck the child, who was strapped in a car seat, Watkins said.
The child remained hospitalized on Monday, but Watkins said he was unsure if the baby's condition had improved.
Formal charges had not been filed Monday, and jail records don't indicate if Jones has an attorney.
