BETHANY, OKLA - The Southern Nazarene University Women's soccer team fought their way back into the win column on Thursday afternoon against the Eagles of Oklahoma Christian University. In cool afternoon conditions, the Storm made a point to shoot often and defend even more often.
There was a noticeable commitment to defense in the match by SNU, as the Crimson Storm worked hard to keep OC out of dangerous areas. Ashlynn Pritchett and Maci Attalla shared the goalkeeper job on the evening and had two saves apiece to add to SNU's conference-leading total.
On the offensive end, Erin Greenslade had herself a night. She was dangerous throughout the match, scoring the only goal in the 42nd minute. She shot often, five times, and managed to aim two of those on target. As a team, SNU (2-3) shot 14 times with seven of those being on target, and while OC (0-5) also took 14 shots, SNU limited them to four shots on goal as the Crimson Storm earned their second 1-0 shutout of the season.
The Storm will return to action Saturday, at 1:00 PM to take on the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico University (3-0) in the final match of a three game home stand.
