Dacoma man dies in pickup rollover

A Dacoma man died early Thursday morning when his pickup rolled and he was ejected. Ronald Wayne Wallace, 57, of Dacoma, was transported to Share Medical Center where he was pronounced dead and transferred to the medical examiner’s office in Oklahoma City for further investigation.

The wreck occurred at 3:30 a.m. June 27 on County Road 500, 304 feet south of Ellis Road. The location is three miles north of Dacoma in Woods County.

Wallace was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup south on CR 500 when the vehicle departed the road to the right and he overcorrected. The pickup traveled back across the road and entered the east ditch and overturned. Wallace was ejected 15 feet south of the spot where the pickup came to rest.

The condition of the driver and the cause of the collision are under investigation. The pickup was equipped with seatbelts but they were not in use.

OHP Trooper Brock Morgan investigated, assisted by Woods County Sheriff’s Office, Alva Fire Department and Alva EMS.
