Woods County commissioners held an emergency meeting moments before their regular Monday morning meeting May 27 to discuss – and ultimately approve – a Disaster Emergency Proclamation for the county. All three commissioners – John Smiley, David Hamil and Randy Mcmurphy – were present at the emergency meeting.
After the proclamation was approved, the emergency meeting was ended, and the regular meeting began. The commissioners approved payroll, warrants and claims, along with minutes from the May 20 meeting.
The commissioners then discussed Avard Lake, which is due for renovations, and approved the decision to move forward with the project.
The commissioners then voted to remove a John Deere backhoe, Cat grader and Komatsu trackhoe for District 1 from inventory as sold via a sealed bid to Bidadoo.
Next, the commissioners discussed purchasing a new or used distributor asphalt truck for District 3. The commissioners will be looking to bid the new/used truck out. The move was approved.
Finally, the commissioners approved use of the courthouse lawn by Alva State Bank for its Customer Appreciation Day.
