RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Hannah Villines scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds, but the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (10-13, 7-10 Great American Conference) could not overcome poor shooting as Harding (17-6, 12-5 GAC) defeated Tech 72-48 on Thursday night at Tucker Coliseum.

The Golden Suns will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 16, as Tech hosts Arkansas-Monticello with a 1 p.m. tip-off is scheduled.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams traded baskets over the opening three minutes (6-6).
Harding began to create separation as a 7-2 run gave the Lady Bisons a 13-8 lead with 5:05 remaining in the first quarter.
Arkansas Tech trimmed the deficit to four points (15-11) after Ryan Goodsell went 1-for-2 from the free throw line.
Harding took a 19-13 lead into the second quarter and quickly saw that lead grow to 15 points after HU put together an 11-2 run, leading 30-15 with 5:25 to play in the first half.
Goodsell ended the scoring drought for Tech with a layup (30-17) at the 4:59 minute mark.
The Lady Bisons held Tech to six point in the second quarter, forcing the Golden Suns to go 3-for-22 from the field, giving HU a 35-19 lead going into the half.
Harding went on to score the first six points of the second have to take a 22 point advantage (41-19) and later saw its lead grow to as many as 25 points (48-23) at the 5:08 minute mark.
Tech cut the lead to 20 after Jacie Higgins converted a 3-point play (49-49). The Lady Bisons were able to keep the Suns at arm's length, taking a 55-32 lead into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter was Tech's best shooting quarter as the Suns went 5-for-13 from the field for 38.4 percent. However, despite a slight improvement in shooting, Tech saw HU grow its lead to 28 (66-38) before eventually falling 72-48.
NOTABLES
HU outshot Tech 40.4 percent to 25.0 percent, which is Tech's lowest shooting percentage of the season.
HU held a 56-39 rebounding advantage and a 10-6 advantage in points off turnovers.
Hannah Villines was the only Tech player to reach double figures in scoring with 11 points.
Tech was held to season-low six assists, led by three from Higgins.
