SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist closed out 2018 in style, dominating Central Christian College on the way to a 79-53 victory in their final nonconference tuneup of the season.
Outside of a brief one-point lead at the start of the second quarter, the Lady Bison led by as many as 28 points in the rout. Oklahoma Baptist was strong in the paint, scoring 38 points, and also generated 27 points off Central Christian's 28 turnovers.
Victoria Blankenship paced OBU with a game-high 20 points and added 10 boards to complete her double-double. Mikayla Shulanberger was second on the team with 18 points, while Autumn Avina finished with 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Mia Cherry was the final Lady Bison to touch double figures with 12 points.
Oklahoma Baptist (5-5, 1-3 GAC) resumes Great American Conference action on Thursday, Jan. 3 when they host Henderson State at 5:30 p.m. inside Mabee Arena at the Noble Complex.
