It was over a month ago that commissioners in Alfalfa County met with a representative from Dobson Technologies to gather information on internet and telephone service in search of higher levels of functionality and performance for the courthouse.
After having some time to review the quote the telecom solution company wrote up, officials decided to dial up Dobson Technologies at their regular Monday meeting this week for a conference call to ask a few more questions. The inquiry into a new telecom company comes after many years of frustration felt by Alfalfa County courthouse employees due to the limitations of their current AT&T phone system. The representative from Dobson Technologies answered the questions quickly, but commissioners were not yet ready to make their decision and tabled the matter. They moved on to do their usual review of maintenance and operation warrants for payment, blanket purchase orders, previous meeting minutes. There was only one $500 road crossing permit for District 2.
Next, the trio opened up a large stack of sealed envelopes that came in since agreeing to go out on bid last month. They accepted the bids, but will start awarding them next week.
Nearing the meeting’s end, the group discussed the distribution of a portion of sales tax that must meet the criteria for the health and well-being of Alfalfa County. That item demanded no action, as it was only up for discussion. With no new business, the meeting ended.
