On Nov. 10, the Freedom academic team traveled to Drummond to compete in the OSSAA Regional Tournament. Eleven teams from around northwest Oklahoma came to compete and move on to area competition in January.
The day started well for the Eagles; they defeated Geary 100 to 40 and they easily defeated Lookeba-Sickles 140 to 80.
Things started to take a turn for the worse when Freedom played Leedey, a traditional powerhouse. The Eagles competed with Leedey for a half, as it was tied at 110 at halftime. However, Leedey eventually pulled away to win, 210 to 130.
Freedom then played Lomega for a trip to the area tournament, but Freedom would fall short again, this time losing 140 to 120.
Less than a week later, the Eagles played Waynoka in a set of regular season games and walked away with two wins.
The Eagles will finish out the season by playing Aline-Cleo and Okeene at home on Dec. 3.
