SWOSU Soccer Sweeps GAC Player of the Week Honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The SWOSU Soccer team has swept the Great American Conference Player of the Week awards following a 2-0 week with victories over Oklahoma Christian and Lubbock Christian. The conference office announced the weekly awards Tuesday afternoon.

Alimata Rabo earns the eighth career Offensive Player of the Week award in her time at SWOSU. She helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week scoring three goals and assisting on two other goals. Rabo totaled 15 shots with 10 of those being shots on goal. Her best game of the week came against OCU when she scored two goals and recorded two assists in the Bulldogs 5-0 victory.

Erica Brunet picked up her fourth career Defensive Player of the Week honor after she anchored a Bulldog defense that held opponents to just 21 shots in two games. The best outing came against Lubbock Christian where she helped hold the Chaps to just eight total shots in the game.

Steffi Silvera claims her first Goalkeeper of the Week honor as a Bulldog after helped SWOSU to a 2-0 week by posting two shutouts over Oklahoma Christian and Lubbock Christian while recording 10 saves. Her best outing came against OCU as she recorded seven saves.

SWOSU Soccer will be back in action Friday September 14 as they travel to San Angelo, Texas to take on Angelo State at 7 pm.
