YOUTH CURIOUS ABOUT LAND RUN OF 1893 – This year, 2018, is the 125th anniversary of The Great Land Run of 1893, the opening of the Cherokee Strip. Kiowa, Kansas, woman De Coyle seized the opportunity to help others remember this historical event. During Kiowa's Pioneer Days and the Kansas Big Road Trip Coyle set up a booth at the bigger-than-life bronze that depicts the Land Run of 1893 located at Fourth and Main streets in Kiowa. Here, Kiowa youth Zion Quinlan Johnson checks it all out. Coyle presents him with a replica of one of the certificates given to those who made the Land Run of 1893 and staked their claim. Behind him is Patricia Sanger who was also intrigued with all the memorabilia Coyle had displayed.
