BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Harding softball had three players honored for their on-field achievements and four honored for their success in the classroom Wednesday as the Great American Conference released its postseason award winners.
Outfielder Peyton Mills received first-team All-GAC, second baseman Madi Trump earned second-team honors, and designated player Briley Feringa received honorable mention.
Amanda Berry, Katie Carney, Mills and Trump each earned the GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete award, given to student-athletes with a 3.70 GPA or higher with 70 or more credit hours.
Mills, a junior from Rockwall, Texas, leads Harding with a .364 batting average, 10 home runs and 32 RBIs. She also leads the team with 55 hits and 20 stolen bases. It was her third consecutive All-GAC honor.
Trump, a senior from Trenton, Missouri, is hitting .283 with 31 runs, seven doubles and 15 RBIs. She has handled 209 fielding chances without an error.
Feringa, a sophomore from Glendale, Arizona, is second on the team with a .304 batting average. She has scored 14 runs and driven in 15.
Harding is the No. 6 seed in the GAC Tournament and is playing No. 3 seed Southeastern Oklahoma, Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. in Bentonville, Arkansas.
