Robinson fans 10 as Wonder Boys defeat Ozarks

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Layton Robinson allowed just one unearned run in his first start of the season on Tuesday, pitching a complete-game with 10 strikeouts to lead Arkansas Tech to a 3-1 win over the University of the Ozarks.

Arkansas Tech will return to Great American Conference play this weekend, as the Wonder Boys travel to Shawnee, Okla. for a three-game series with Oklahoma Baptist. The series is scheduled for a single game at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 23, followed by a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Robinson earned his first win of the season in his first start of 2018, recording his first career complete game. Robinson allowed just three hits and three walks, and his 10 strikeouts are a career high.

Six different Wonder Boys recorded a hit in the victory, while Gard, Hickerson and Wescott each batted in one run.

Wescott extended his hit streak to six games with a single in the fourth inning, and Gard extended his reached base streak to 13 games with a single in the third inning.
