DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern put up 11 hits, but stranded 10 runners on base in a 13-5 loss on Tuesday afternoon to Arkansas-Fort Smith at The Ballpark in Durant.
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 10-12 overall on the season.
Bryce Deatherage put up three hits in the contest and score two runs, while Joseph Cerda and Easton Elliottadded two hits each.
Travis Spinney, Austin Ferguson, Brett Akins, and Cade Clay each added a hit.
Elliott and Cerda each drove in a pair of runs on home runs, while Caleb Dubler plated a run.
Collin Jameson got the start and allowed four runs on four hits in 2.0 innings of work and took the loss.
Tiler Fletcher tossed 3.0 innings in relief and allowed three runs on five hits.
He was followed by Scott Brinkley who tossed an inning and allowed two unearned runs on two hits before handing to Dallas Guerrero who threw the next two innings and allowed a hit.
Bridger Dauenhauer tossed the final inning and was tagged for four runs on three hits.
UAFS jumped out in front in the top of the third with a three-run homer sandwiched between a pair of solo shots to open up a 5-0 lead midway through the third inning.
The Storm answered in the bottom of the third as Deatherage and Spinney singled with one out and moved up on a balk before Deatherage came in on a Dubler sac fly to center to cut the deficit to 5-1.
SE would chip away at the deficit in the bottom of the fourth as Akins led off with a triple and came home a batter later on a monster Easton Elliott homer to right field to score two and close the gap to 5-3 after four innings.
The Lions would get a run back in the top of the fifth on a solo homer to make it 6-3, and took advantage of three walks and an error in the top of the sixth inning to add three more runs and take a 9-3 lead.
Southeastern picked up a pair of runs after a Deatherage double and a Cerda two-run homer to close it to 9-5 after eight.
UAFS would follow up with four runs in the top of the ninth to push its lead back out to 13-5 midway through the inning which would hold to be the final.
