EDMOND, Okla. — Southern Nazarene fell 9-0 to No. 12 Midwestern State Saturday morning.
Noelia Gomez and Judit Mas fell 8-3 at No. 1 doubles while Anna Garcia and Dragana Samardzic lost 8-3 at No. 2. Zoe Gray and Polina Chala lost 8-2 at No. 3 to round out doubles.
In singles, Noelia Gomez and Polina Chala were the only two players to win a set at No. 1 and 2 singles. Gomez won her first set 6-4 over No. 5 (South Central Region) Maddy Coffman, but lost 6-3 in the second set and fell 10-3 in the tiebreaker. Chala, ranked No. 7 (Central Region) lost her first set to No. 8 (South Central Region) Bianca Duff, 6-4, but she won the second set 6-3. She then lost the tiebreaker 10-3.
Samardzic fell 6-1, 6-2, at No. 3 while Mas lost 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4. Gray and Hair rounded out singles at No. 5 and 6 as both lost 6-0, 6-0.
