Four new molestation charges added against Waynoka man

The list of Woods County felony charges against a Waynoka man grew by four this month, bringing the total to ten. Chad Eric Tune, 19, was charged Dec. 13 with four additional lewd molestation counts. Each is punishable by imprisonment in the custody of the Department of Corrections for not less than 25 years.

The latest charges follow additional information received by law enforcement in an interview with one of the two underage female alleged victims. The girl was 11 at the time the alleged incidents occurred in Alva. The other girl was age 10 at the time of the alleged incidents.

On Feb. 10 Tune was charged with two felony counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology and two felony counts of violation of Oklahoma statute via computer. Bond on those four charges was set at $60,000, and he posted an appearance bond on Feb. 15.

On May 10 Tune was charged with two felony counts of lewd molestation. Bond was set at $25,000 per count or a total of $50,000. His appearance bond was continued with the condition that he is to have no contact with the alleged victim or any child under 18 or be within 2,000 feet of a school, daycare or other place where children regularly attend.

A preliminary hearing on the February and May charges has been set for Feb. 8, 2018.

The latest four lewd molestation charges involve incidents alleged to have occurred on Feb. 4 in Alva. According to information filed in the case, Tune is charged with feeling the private parts of the underage girl, kissing her on the lips and rubbing himself against her.

Woods County District Attorney’s Investigator Steve Tanio filed an affidavit in the case giving the history of his investigation in the earlier charges. He also describes an interview conducted Dec. 12 with the 11-year-old who told about meeting Tune in an Alva park.

According to the affidavit, she told Tanio she “was scared” because Tune was older than she. She also told him Tune threatened her and told her “not to tell anyone about this or I’d get hurt.” The girl said she did not report this when originally interviewed because she was afraid she would be in trouble. She has been in a mental health treatment facility for two months because she is suffering from depression as a result of Tune’s behavior, the affidavit states.

Bond on the latest four charges has been set at $25,000 per count ($100,000 total). Tune’s next appearance in court on the latest charges has been set for Jan. 9, 2018.
