The Cherokee FFA has started back to school with a bang! On Aug. 17 members teamed up with Cherokee FCCLA for our annual back-to-school bash. The group started the evening with a nonperishable goods scavenger hunt to help replenish the FCCLA food pantry. Members brought in an unbelievable amount of goods totaling over 2,000 different nonperishable items. After the scavenger hunt members enjoyed a hot dog roast and some extreme kickball.
FFA members donated their time to host a kid's carnival at the Great Salt Plains Stampede and Rodeo on Aug. 25 and 26. Kids could participate in face painting, stick horse racing, ring toss, bobbing for apples and many more fun activities. They also had a float in the parade.
FFA members have also been busy with other actives including the NOC sheep show in Tonkawa on Aug. 26 and sporting clays practice on Sunday and Monday evening. Members are excited about upcoming county fair, state fair and many other actives.
