10 Rangers to Watch Series: Jennifer Eubanks

The Northwestern Oklahoma State Athletic Department will be announcing ten Rangers throughout the summer that Ranger fans can expect to make direct impacts on their team’s success. These athletes are leaders for their respective sports and will be looking to contribute to the rise of Northwestern Athletics during the 2017-2018 school year.

Sophomore Jennifer Eubanks will return to the court following a freshman season that featured the lite potential the 6-foot outside hitter possesses, Eubanks worked her way into the rotation throughout the season and will enter the upcoming season as a rising force in the Great American Conference.

Eubanks finished fourth on the team with 179 kills during her inaugural year as a Ranger, and will look to flourish in new Ranger Head Coach Jeremy White’s offense. Her best match of the year came on Sept. 16 against Southwest Baptist during a contest in which she scored 15.5 points for the Rangers including a season-high 16 kills.

Eubanks will look to mesh together with the new pieces coach White will bring with him to Alva and will be an essential part of the team’s success moving into the season. The multiple new faces that will join Eubanks in the offense will provide coach White with varying options on the offensive attack.

“We are expecting big things from Jennifer this year. She’s been putting in great work on both the court and in the weight room. I’m excited to see where her work ethic takes her,” coach White said. “It will also help that our offense tends to feature the middles just as much as the outsides, which means she should get a lot of opportunities to showcase her elite athleticism.”

The 2017 volleyball season will get underway on Sept. 9 in Goodwell at the OPSU Tournament with the first home match scheduled for Sept. 5 against Newman University inside Percefull Fieldhouse.
