Before the latest wildfire broke out last week, the Freedom Town Board had scheduled an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss trash pickup rates. The meeting was canceled because of the fires, so the topic was added as a regular agenda item for the Wednesday, May 8, meeting.
Last month, the city signed a new agreement with Harper Sanitation to pick up Freedom's trash.
