This is just one of the many rooms furnished and decorated by volunteers at Project Pink to provide a welcoming atmosphere for expectant mothers who call the Kiowa, Kansas, facility home for this time in their lives.
"We are changing the world one woman at a time!" Project Pink Founder Miranda Allen said. She informally chatted with visitors at Project Pink's Open House, one of whom was former Kansas Congressman Dennis McKinney who, with his church group from Greensburg, volunteered to help with the transformation of the former hospital into a welcoming home for expectant mothers to rebuild their lives. Allen thanked the many individuals and groups who volunteered their time to help make Project Pink a reality in Kiowa, Kansas. She said volunteers are the key in so many ways to making this place continue as a loving environment for women as they prepare for motherhood and learning/improving life skills.
