ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Anton Cook poured in 22 points to pace the Savage Storm offense, but it was not enough to lift Southeastern to a win on the road on Saturday as it fell to Ouachita Baptist 72-63 in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The loss drops the Storm to 8-13 overall on the year and 4-11 in Great American Conference play.
Cook shot 50.0 percent from the floor and went 5-of-6 at the free throw line to turn in his third-straight 20-plus point performance and his seventh 20-point outing of the season.
He helped SE to a 49.0 percent shooting effort from the floor.
He was joined in double-figures by Tyler Lonzie who went 5-of-6 and finished with 13 points, while Jett Jobe and Kevin Buckingham added nine each.
Jove would also lead the way with four assists.
Ander Perez led the Storm on the boards with six rebounds, while Lonzie added five as SE held a 32-to-26 edge on the glass.
Southeastern led early in the first half and the teams trade the edge back-and-forth through the first half before OBU seized the lead at 21-20 with 9:22 to go and would hold the advantage till halftime where the Storm trailed 38-35.
SE scored the first seven points out of the intermission to regain the lead, including five-straight by Cook, but the Tigers would answer with a 13-0 run to leave the Storm in a 51-42 hole with 12:59 to play.
The Storm would get as close as four points down the stretch, but was unable to mount a comeback en route to a 72-63 loss.
