GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS – The East Central University baseball team fell to Washburn, 0-3, in the third day of the D2 Air Hog Classic hosted at Air Hogs Stadium.
The Tigers (0-3) struggled to get their bats going in the game, recording just four hits, yet only allowed six by the Ichabods (3-1). Redshirt junior Josh Reeves earned one of ECU's hits in the game and recorded 10 putouts.
Junior Brandon Dusenberry started the game on the mound and threw the first eight innings. He allowed six hits and three runs, while striking out six. Junior Brady Holcomb earned time in the final inning, facing three batters.
The teams went through the first two innings before a run was scored, but it was Washburn who got on the board with a run in the third. The Ichabods added runs in both the eighth and ninth innings for the 0-3 final.
The Tigers will play the final game of the invitational, Sunday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. against Oklahoma Christian.
