The Burlington High School basketball teams recently participated in the Cherokee Invitational Tournament. The girls' team played Tyrone and the boys' played Kremlin-Hillsdale on Thursday, Jan. 5. The Elks and the Lady Elks both had two really exciting games that ended with victories.
The Elks went on to play Tyrone on Friday, while the Lady Elks played Waukomis. Both offered another round of exciting games with the Lady Elks advancing to the championship.
The girls' team played Kremlin-Hillsdale and the boys' played Pioneer on Saturday. The Elks put up a valiant effort but suffered a loss against the Mustangs. In the girls' bracket, the final results placed the Lady Elks runner up with a final score of 57-41. Kelsi Smith and Caitlin Flackman received honors for All Tournament Team.
