CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State University Dance squad will compete in the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Dance Team National Championship held January 13-15 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World® Resort in Kissimmee, Florida.
The second year program will attend a national competition for the first as RSU Dance will compete in the Open Hip Hop division. The Hillcats will take the competition floor at 4:59 p.m. CST inside the J Center on Saturday, January 14 for their semi-final performance. Eleven teams will advance to the Open Hip Hop Finals on Sunday, January 15 with the first performance scheduled for 8:00 a.m. CST and the final performance at 9:04 a.m.
"I first cannot tell you how excited I am that as just a second year program this team is able to attend Nationals!" second-year head coach Amy Alt explained. "This competition is where every college dance team dreams of attending because it's the best in the nation. When we get there I'm expecting the girls to get out on the floor and perform to the best of their abilities and showcase what we've been working on for the past several months."
