4-H has a good start to the NWOSPC shows

Woods County 4-Hers Iridian Herrera, Allison Galindo, Lance Bolar, Vanessa Galindo and Derrick Galindo traveled to Kingfisher during their Christmas vacation to exhibit their swine in the first NWSPC (Northwest Show Pig Circuit) show of the season.

Herrerra showed a Berkshire that placed first in class and reserve breed champion as well as a Duroc and York that both placed third in their respective classes.

Allison Galindo drove a Yorkshire to second in class and reserve breed champion; a Berkshire to fourth place and she exhibited a Hampshire barrow.

Vanessa Galindo then exhibited a Poland then took her Spot to place sixth in a very competitive class. She also helped out a fellow 4-H member, Lance Bolar (who, due to illness, could not show himself), and showed Bolar's cross barrow. Bolar's time in the barn paid off; his cross barrow took seventh in a very tough class.

Derrick Galindo did an excellent job showing his Poland but unfortunately ran into a few that were just a little better.

The group next traveled to Taloga on Jan. 7 to continue the payoff of their time and work with their show animals.
