Henderson State ran into a hot shooting Arkansas-Fort Smith team as the Reddies lost 83-74 in women's basketball action Saturday in Fort Smith, Ark.
Five Reddies scored in double-figures led by Haleigh Henson and Torrie Thompson scoring 15 points each.
Blu Jones scored 12 points with Pink Jones scoring 11 and Bree Bossier 10.
Henderson, 2-4 on the year, led 36-28 at the half but the Lions were nearly perfect in the second-half outscoring the Reddies 55 to 38.
UAFS hit 13-of-14 shots in the third quarter to outscore the Reddies 34 to 19. The Lions continued to blister the nets in the final 10 minutes making 8-of-10 shots from the floor.
After making 11-of-32 field goals in the opening half for 34 percent shooting, UAFS converted on 87.5 percent in the second-half scoring on 21-of-24 attempts.
Henderson finished the game hitting 25-of-71 shots from the floor for 35 percent shooting.
The Reddies will travel to Ada, Okla. on Thursday for Great American Conference action against East Central with the opening tip set for 5:30 p.m.
