SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist made key adjustments in the second half and hung on for a 73-71 win over Rogers State Saturday in the Noble Complex.
OBU trailed 37-36 at the half and Coach Casi Baysemphasized rebounding and defense for the second half.
"In the first half we didn't block out well and we didn't guard the three-pointers very well," Bays said. "We made the adjustment and came out in the second half and held them to two three-pointers and we got more rebounds."
A shot at a third three-pointer of the half by RSU was well-contested and off target at the buzzer to stave off a strong Hillcat comeback.
OBU led by as much as nine points in the fourth quarter.
Cameerah Graves led OBU with 15 points, followed by Aliyah White and Lexi Williams with 14 apiece. Tasha Edge added 11 points. White also hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds for a double-double with Edge getting seven.
Now 2-4 after a 0-4 start, the Lady Bison return to action Monday when they host Manhattan Christian in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
