Tree trimming talent sought for museum's Annual Festival of Trees

It’s time to reserve a room in the museum in which to decorate a tree for the Cherokee Strip Museum’s Annual Festival of Trees.

Creativity abounds each year when local residents, civic groups and businesses lend their talents in helping make the museum a holiday must-see.

Would you choose the doll room, the hat room, the fireman’s room or perhaps the old fashioned kitchen? You may call the museum at 580-327-2030 to reserve a room for your decorated tree or stop by, check out the rooms and make your selection.

Trees should be decorated by the Wednesday, Nov. 23, so they may be ready for holiday visitors during Thanksgiving weekend. Bring your own tree and trimmings anytime during operating hours Tuesday through Sunday from 1-5 p.m. (A tree may be made available upon request.)

Trees will be judged in a variety of categories, including a People’s Choice award. Participants and visitors to the Festival of Trees are asked to bring a canned good or non-perishable item to donate to the food pantry as supplies run low during the holidays.

The Festival of Trees will be in place throughout the entire month of December. It is a great place to bring friends and family to get in the holiday spirit and see the wonderful talents within our community.
