OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Sept. 30, 2016) – The Rogers State women's soccer team fell, 3-0, at Oklahoma Christian on Thursday at the Eagle Soccer Field.
The host Eagles tallied two first half goals and added another in the second half for the 3-0 win in league action.
OC's Michell Fuentes scored the first goal in the 17th minute on a header off a corner kick from Lauren Parker for an early 1-0 lead to the home team. The Eagles added the second score in the 38th minute on a shot from eight yards from Rubi Villegas.
In the second half, OC registered its final goal in the 64th minute on a volley from 30 yards into the upper left corner for the 3-0 score.
Paige Pontarolo put one shot on frame in the first half in the 30th minute, however, OC goalkeeper Carina Schanz made her only save of the first period to keep the Hillcats off the scoreboard. Pontarolo got another opportunity early to start the second half as the Hillcats started strong in the second half with two shots on goal in the first five minutes. Pontarolo's shot on goal was saved in the 46th minute with Addy Pritchardputting one on goal in the 50th minute.
For the contest, the Eagles held a 20-7 advantage in shots, including 13-5 in the second half.
The Hillcats continue their three-game road trip on Saturday (Oct. 1) at Lubbock Christian in a 1 p.m. contest in Lubbock, Texas. Video and live stats are available.
