I hope you all enjoyed the parade and saw many old friends

First thing is the Tulsa shooting of the unarmed black man by a young white female officer. On the surface it looks like she should not have shot him. After all the films, accounts and testimony are done we shall see. Where do you draw the line on where the actions of an individual seem threatening, gun or not?

Well my prayers were not answered, I guess. Nobody threw Al Sharpton out of the plane on the way to Tulsa. True to his natural ability to stir up trouble when things are going pretty good, he reacted in his usual troublemaker ways. He wants charges brought on all the officers on the ground and in the helicopters around where the man was killed. What a dummy. They had no control over what happened in that instant. I bet Al's mother wishes every day she had danced all night when she conceived one of three big bigots in America.

Last Tuesday while getting drinks at the Rialto, there was a woman from Parrot Rescue out of Woodward handing out fliers hunting for a lost cockatoo. I visited with her for a minute and she told me it had been sighted on the Rialto building with the pigeons. One of the guys went up there with her, but no bird. We left and I thought that was the end of it. Wednesday morning I went to Garnett's to pick up a tire and there was the same lady getting a pack of cigarettes. I mentioned that smoking could cause you to wear shirts with marijuana leaves on them, because that was what the leaves on her shirt looked like to me. She laughed and said that was right. The owner of the Cockatoo is from Mississippi and is moving to Colorado. Her son was transporting the bird to Colorado, and when he opened his door the bird “flew the coop” as it were. The owner was here trying to find the bird. It has been sighted a time or two. When asked how you could catch the bird, the Woodward lady said just stand there and look like a nut. Everyone looked at me and started laughing. Thanks guys! More about the Woodward lady in a future story. I do hope they find the bird, and glad they are in Alva because catching the bird has other meanings in some parts of the country!

I did not watch the debates because if I wanted to watch six-year-olds bicker, I can go to Washington School in Alva. There may have been two debates took place. The first guy I ran into the next morning told me Trump clobbered Hillary. A lady friend of mine assured Hillary put the Donald out of the picture. I did get a sample ballot and will try to make heads or tails out of the state questions. You all have heard the overused saying, “it was an act of God.” A different perspective is all the storms and earthquakes are not acts of God, but acts of the Devil.
