The Alva Airport Commission had to table most of their agenda items Monday due to the absence of a Garver Engineering representative. Instead they spent extra time discussing some ideas suggested by Airport Manager Tyson Tucker. With continuing HVAC work at City Hall, the Alva City Council will meet Monday at the Alva Recreation Center, Classroom 3. The Alva Tourism Committee will consider two requests for funds during their meeting Wednesday, Dec. 19. The committee meets at 5:30 p.m. in in the Alva Recreation Center, Classroom 2. A man who went to an Alva bar to pick up a friend was surprised to find his pickup missing when he went back outside. The incident took some odd twists before the pickup was located and a suspect was identified. According to court documents, Dakota Nusser said he went to the Angry Bull Saloon on Tuesday, Oct. 9, about 10:30 p.m. to pick up a friend. An Alva man has been charged with a felony after a search of a his residence. Johnny Charles Briseno, 48 of Alva, has been charged with possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for one to ten years. A Waynoka woman was at the courthouse for a hearing when it was discovered there was an outstanding warrant for her. What a deputy says she had in her purse caused her more trouble.
